 Quote to Consider

If you are looking to find your passion,
be curious about the world around
you.  Venture into new areas and try
different things.  Passion comes
from within.  You will know when you
have found it, because you will fee it.

Discover & Pursue
Your PASSION!

Read page 70 about
personal purpose and
see the exercise below.

Read about
Passion
Pursuer Cindy Cannon
(page 94).

Project #1:  Your Personal Purpose
This exercise is designed to make you more mindful of the purpose or lack of purpose in your daily life. The instructions were explained during the last session and they are also below.

First, read the Personal Purpose section on page 70 in Discover & Pursue Your Passion. Then consider what is the purpose behind each of your major daily activities, conversations, interactions, etc. by asking yourself “Why I am __________”. If you don’t have a clear purpose for any of them, consider whether you should continue investing your time, money and energy in them.

If necessary, reread page 70 to fully understand the importance of knowing your Personal Purpose.  That knowledge can have a significant impact on your daily decisions and on the time, energy and money you have to discover and pursue your passion and purpose.

Write your thoughts in your notebook and plan to share some of them during our next session.

If you have any questions at all about this project or the others, don't hesitate to contact me at Donna@JustGetSerious.com

Question For Reflection & Journaling
Imagine you are an award-winning and highly paid teacher for a group of enthusiastic and well-behaved junior high or high school students. What subject or topic would you be teaching them and what specifically would the students learn? Why is that subject or topic important for them to know?  How can it be connected to a potential purpose for you?

Optional Project: MeetUp.com For More Passion & Purpose Possibilities™

Browse through the extensive categories and subcategories at www.MeetUp.com (not just those in your neighborhood or city). Which groups would you consider attending because they are focused on a topic or interest that you have wanted to explore or their focus is one that is totally unfamiliar to you? Maybe that could be your next Passion & Purpose Possibility™ activity.

Tracking Your Interest & Energy
Continue with this project and share with us any new findings or insights.

Self-Discovery & Self-Work

Project #2:  Your Current Elevated Purpose
This exercise is to make us more mindful of the impact or purpose we have on others. The instructions were explained during the last session and they are also below.

1. Watch the 2-minute video below about Vera Wang to understand how she sees her impact on women as a fashion designer. It's a very "elevated" perspective and is most likely quite different than how you would describe her impact. Pay particular attention to the first minute of this two-minute video. Also listen carefully to hear the one word Wang uses most often.

2. Next, consider at least two major roles in your life (manager, support staff, entrepreneur, wife, mother, friend, volunteer, etc.) and write about your impact based on the insightful and elevated way that Vera Wang sees her work.

When we elevate the impact we are having on those in our personal, professional or business lives, we experience a greater sense of our current purpose.

Stretch your mind and embrace the totality of the impact you have on others through what you are currently doing.  Then write your thoughts in your notebook and plan to share some of them during our next session.

If you have any questions at all about this project or the others, don't hesitate to contact me at Donna@JustGetSerious.com
or 770-498-0400.
Optional Video: More About Vera Wang
Are you interested in what the key players in the fashion industry think about Wang's work?  Do you want to know Wang's feelings about her first passion for skating and her second passion for fashion?  Both of those questions are answered in the three-minute video below. If you have the interest and the time, watch it and be inspired!
